Asian Dumpling Rice Bowl

Every so often I throw together a quick meal that turns into a new favorite. This was one of those times. Had 20 minutes to pull together a meal for the hubs and I before he trotted out the door to soccer practice. So I dove into my freezer and found frozen Asian dumplings. I thawed them out and then threw together my “go-to” asian sauce, microwaved my favorite Unlce Ben’s Jasmine rice, and before you could say Asian Dumpling Rice Bowl, we were half way into this dinner. Quick, easy, simple, and cheap. Perfect weeknight meal, from me to you!

  • Uncle Ben’s Ready Rice, Jasmine Rice
  • 1 tbsp chili garlic sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp minced ginger
  • 1 tbsp honey {agave would work too}
  • chopped cashews {or whatever nuts you have on hand}
  • [pre-cooked] frozen asian dumplings, thawed
  • 1-2 tbsp EVOO {extra virgin olive oil}
  1. begin by browning dumplings in a medium sized saute pan with EVOO over med-high heat. dumplings should brown quickly, turn to brown each side. once browned, remove from pan and let rest on clean dish cloth or paper towels for oil absorption.
  2. combine soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, honey, and ginger in a small bowl. combine sauce and cashews with cooked rice in a medium sized mixing bowl. stir well.
  3. serve dumplings over rice in individual bowls. drizzle soy sauce over dumplings & enjoy! :)
